I’m using it as a kick-in-the-butt!
If you’ve been working in the copywriting or content marketing space for any length of time, you’re probably familiar with Copyblogger as a great resource for all things content marketing. Started as a simple one-man blog by founder Brian Clark, Copyblogger is now a highly profitable company with eight figures in annual revenue.
I’ve always appreciated the full depth of knowledge that was offered – for free – in copywriting, content marketing, and basic business-building skills. What they offer in their free (yes, they do ask for your email address in exchange) library are in-depth ebooks, webinars, and seminars on Content Marketing, Copywriting, Internet Marketing, SEO, and SEO Copywriting.
So lots of great teaching on how to create “audience-focused content that helps you reach your business goals.” All imparted in a down-home folksy way that is not intimidating, but supportive. Added bonus: the Copyblogger people, in addition to being crazy smart, are just plain fun, too!
They also offer writers and marketers an opportunity to become Copyblogger Certified Writers and be featured on their website. Since I respected them so much, I took an opportunity a couple of years ago to sign up and started the process to become certified. For one reason, or another, or a thousand reasons, I haven’t completed the certification process, although I have finished most of the work. Nevertheless, I jumped at the opportunity to enter a blog contest they held in December for all certified writers and us certified-writers-in-process.
Here are the results of that contest! Results of Our ‘Secret Contest’: 5 Winning Blog Posts from Our Certification Community
Of course, if you want to read my first runner-up winning post here on the blog, here it is.
So yay me, and I’m letting this honor also serve as an unofficial kick-in-the-butt for 2019 to finish the certification process! What’s on your calendar to complete this year?
